How to add a custom filter to Facebook profile picture

Home / Social Media / How to add a custom filter to Facebook profile picture

We have all seen the filters on Facebook profile pictures that allow us to change our profile pictures temporarily in support of different causes like standing in support of the Paris attacks and the Orlando shootings in the US. Facebook has now released this capability to the general public.

The information on how to do this has not quite been put out there as of yet whether on purpose or omission, we don’t quite know. This article follows several sleepless nights and plenty of trial and error. The first step begins here.

The Get Started button redirects you to the dashboard which has several functions. It allows you to upload new filter designs, to see how your existing active designs are performing and so much more.

This is the point where you get a professional graphics artist to create a filter for you if you have one or you could Get in touch with us. Once you have your filter created, you need to submit it for approval which takes about a week or less. That’s it!!!!

Well not exactly………

As far as we know (may not be the case) people have to go here and search for your filter to be able to add it to their Facebook profiles. If you know of a better way to do this or updates on the process, please get in touch.

Important to note: the background for your filter must have a transparent background. This and a couple of other guidelines on how to make the filter can be found on Facebook.

Get in touch with us to help you create the filter to support your cause or to promote your business.
